Graduation!
Well, the husband graduated over the weekend, and as his biggest fan I couldn't be more excited for him. He officially holds a degree in Business Administration and another one in Operations Management. Graduating from college doesn't seem to be that big of a deal anymore, unless you personally know about all the sacrifice that goes into it. I won't go into tons of details, but I've watched Craig through most of this process, and even when we were very first dating I was so impressed by his willingness to put "fun" on hold with so many things. Not a lot of guys are willing to give up the nice cars/trucks, four-wheelers, golf, video games, or whatever it is they love these days, in order to achieve bigger things. My husband is always up for fun, but I am continually impressed by his willingness to do what is most important first, and fill in the rest after. He has worked full time at some very tough jobs, sometimes 2 or 3 of them at a time, all while going to school full time, and has still managed to be the happiest person I've ever met. It takes a lot to get Craig down, and I admire him for it.
We had a lot of fun this weekend! Grace got some mega Grandma love, from her Grandma Taylor and also from the Fry cousins. We miss them all, already! :( We also got to hang out with most of the Orr family, most especially Jillian Orr who will be leaving next Wednesday to serve a full time mission. So proud of her as well! And lastly, we were able to (too briefly!) see Craig's best friend Jake and his wife Tiffany. We've really missed their faces as well! I would have loved the trip just for the people we saw, but it was also fun to spend some time as a little family that didn't include studying, cleaning or lawn care! Grace had a blast, and really seemed to love every minute of the trip, including the 2 and a half hour drive there and back! She played with toys, and watched "Kipper" and ate (too many) snack foods, but she loved it.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip.
Walking down to get in their seats |
So I bought Grace a cap and gown to wear, but she fell asleep right after I took her down to him, and didn't wake up until it was over. Oh well, maybe next time. lol |
Some of the many snacks she consumed. Oh, and also dumped out everywhere! |

Too precious! |
Craig with Enoch in picture #1 and then with his Mom and little sister Michelle.
Grace of course looked everywhere, BUT at the camera. |
The first one is Craig, "Meeting the Challenge" and the second I call, "Grabbing life by the horns".
Love this one too! Sweet Enoch with Gracie girl |
We went to dinner at the Beehive Grill after the ceremony. Here is Ethne Girl with "Grandma T" as Craig calls her. |

I sure hope that legend is true...
Gracie
So I thought I'd put a few pictures from my phone of Gracie during all this. She is such a funny girl!
We went to the park for lunch and Grace was a little cold, so her "Aunt Rachel" volunteered her sweat shirt. It fixed the cold problem, but she kept losing her chicken nugget somewhere in the sleeve...
Haha! Goof kept sticking her foot in them.
Love this kiddo! |
Such great fun! So happy for you guys. Gracie is just too grown up for me. I need to see her.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you guys! It was so fun to see you guys, even if it was just for a second! We too would have loved to have been closer, but maybe the next time around... I guess time will tell! Glad it was a fun trip!
