Sunday Tea

This past week our precocious little three year old became a Sunbeam! She'll be the youngest in her class since she doesn't actually turn 4 until the end of next December, but I'm not worried, she's been ready for a year at least. Sundays for us can be a bit frustrating. Grace HATES nursery. Every time she has gotten used to a nursery leader in our ward it has changed, and you add in to that that children in nursery do not interact with her the way she would like (in a civilized adult manner) and the fact that our church previously started at 1:00 which is her nap time, and we'll just say that I happily go for my children and I very happily go to partake of the sacrament and while I'm there I happily dream of a day when I will get something out of the lessons again. But maybe that will change soon! Church is now at 9:00am which means that Grace is her normal happy self, and she loved primary. I was subbing for a different class and got to sit in the back and observe her. We definitely need to go over some primary manners, but she did really great. It was the first Sunday without tears in I think months. She went in by herself, sat down on her little chair and introduced herself to the little girl next to her, and they immediately became "best friends", which she yelled back to me a couple times. lol I did have to reprimand her a little for getting out her book bag and sharing books and chap stick with her new friend, and there was that one terrible moment where she walked up to the front, tapped on the choristers skirt, told her she didn't like the song they were about to sing and insisted they sing, "I am a Child of God" again, but when the request was denied she did go back and sit quietly. She also ran back to me a couple times to give me a kiss on the cheek and tell me she loved me, but well...I loved it. lol Overall I think she'll do great. I told her before we got to church that if she was very good and there were no tears, that we would all have a tea party with her when we got home. So we had a picnic lunch per her request on the floor with hot cocoa for the tea. It was her first tea party with her new tea set from her Grandparents and she and Camilla Jane both had a great time, as did Craig and I. :)

Love my girly girls!

This little thing may have been my favorite part of the tea party. lol She ate a whole peanut butter sandwich square before I remembered she can't have peanut butter yet! Luckily no reaction, and we'll be more careful in the future, but it sure was fun watching her enjoy it.

Cocoa mustaches aren't exactly becoming at a tea party but sometimes they just can't be helped. ;)

Husband hamming it up as usual.

Our sandwiches and "tea"

The little dress she is wearing was actually one my sisters and I wore when we were little. I thought she looked so pretty in it.
